Southeast Asia flows straight to the emerging route and keeps moving forward, not giving any room to slow down. Thinking it through, behind SEA's developing journey and every breakthrough, there is a group of distinguished human resources pushing through their limit.
SEA's GDP growth, as reported by Asian Development Bank (ADB), reached 4.9 percent in 2022 and predicted will see steady growth until 2023, advocated by the most promising industries; manufacturing, tourism, and the digital economy.
That prediction of our periodic growth unwittingly demanded us to act quickly and be able to multitask in carrying on various tasks for the benefit of others. Resulted of this fast pace environment, upon realizing their incapability to cope with it, not very few people are experiencing different kinds of mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, and stress. Hence, this environment might be ineffective in an attempt to grow the number of human resources with good qualities if implemented without support from better knowledge of self-control in the long run. Arkin Mental Health Institute, Amsterdam, has linked the fast pace of life and work in a city with a 39% increase in mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder, etc.) and a 21% rise in anxiety disorders.
Yuli and The Vedic Path
On our last coverage from the island of gods, Bali, we are lucky enough to uncover the Vedic Way, a great way to increase people's life and self-quality, from a counselor who particularises in Ayurveda (the medicine of nature) that dates back to the Vedic era; true wellness arises when we re-align ourselves with the rhythms and elements of nature. And it's selfish not to spread the not-so-secret knowledge with you, the people fighting to tackle their stumbling block along their path.
Yuli Tan, Founder of The Vedic Path
Encountering Yuli Tan and her transformative wellness service, The Vedic Path, was a pivotal moment that left an indelible mark on us. The unique approach, steeped in ancient Vedic principles, besides offering a new perspective on health and well-being, also delivered tangible results. It's hard to imagine a more fulfilling path to optimal wellness than the one conveyed by Yuli and The Vedic Path.
Begins her journey as a Chemical Engineering student at the University of Washington to the banking industry until reaching the point where she was on top of the food chain, with the ability to get anything she wanted. Despite all that fortune, she felt an emptiness inside which, throughout her six years of pain, she realized that she was full, clogged internally, and in desperate need of making some room by giving to others. Yuli then spent some time in the Himalayas organizing and hosting a retreat to eventually received the name Vedic from one of the gurus for her business/practice.
Yuli's journey reminded us that each of us has a unique journey with twists and turns. It also underscored the perils of a self-centered existence, where everything revolves solely around one's desires and priorities. Her analogy of a glass of water being filled to the brim, ready to overflow, left a lasting impression. It's a poignant metaphor for the danger of neglecting self-care together, forgetting to give back and contribute to nature.
Fulfilling her purpose of helping others realize there are alternatives to pharmaceutical treatments for achieving good health through Ayurveda. In her practice, she advises her patients and clients to live by the rules of nature, such as following a sleep-wake cycle that aligns with circadian rhythms so individuals can achieve greater well-being and improve their health.
Healing with Ayurveda
All this talk brings us to what Vedic is. It is an era in ancient India where the people developed a rich and sophisticated system of knowledge that integrated philosophy, spirituality, and practical guidance for living a fulfilling life; The inevitability of mortality, and the importance of taking care of our physical health and well-being in preparation for the afterlife. Following and having a daily routine can provide a sense of grounding and stability amidst the chaos of modern life—creating a consistent rhythm to our days, training our bodies and minds to work in harmony, and optimizing our health and well-being by practicing asanas such as yoga to promote mental clarity and heightened awareness of cause and effect. Through exploring Vedic knowledge, we sought to attain a deeper understanding of the human experience and mysteries of the universe.
As humans, we tend to observe patterns in our thoughts and behaviors. When these patterns lead to unfavorable outcomes, recognize that change is possible. Yuli has found that Ayurveda can be a powerful tool for breaking these patterns and getting to the root of one's problems, which starts with deep-seated consultations that may include recommendations for diet, exercise, meditation, and other practices in the hope of promoting one's physical and mental well-being, achieving balance and harmony in all aspects, and providing a sense of grounding and stability amidst the chaos of modern life. Whether you're struggling with a specific health issue or seeking greater insight and understanding, Vedic counseling with Yuli can be a powerful tool for transformation and growth. Such convenience, knowing that we are not alone when considering Ayurvedic counseling.
In the midst of our hectic life, please take care
Amid our fast-paced lifestyle and rapid changes, sustaining our core values and objectives can be challenging and raises pressing concerns. Here's where Vedic knowledge can contribute predominantly to the emerging journey; By (1) focusing on the actual work and implementing a slow living lifestyle, taking time to consider the path to take and the outcomes of each action taken), we can boost our confidence, in the long run, knowing that our culture is not outdated or irrelevant, but rather what brought us to this point, (2) utilizing Ayurveda and The Vedic Path, a fresh perspective Yuli brings to the world of psychotherapy and counseling, giving people room to get out of the experimental catastrophe to take better care of our well-being, the state of being fed all sorts of medicine, and constantly be analyzed throughout the period through the medical records we willingly give to doctors.
